Scott Van Slyke hit a two-run home run and the Dodgers scored on a bases-loaded passed ball in the ninth inning to forge the tie. Mike Bolsinger and Jharel Cotton worked two scoreless innings each. The box score is here.

The Dodgers won a game in their final at-bat Thursday. Although, that isn’t quite accurate because Jimmy Rollins was not credited with an at-bat when Kiké Hernandez got Keone Kela to commit a balk. ARLINGTON, Texas — Whether facing a crafty veteran (Yovani Gallardo) or a pitcher four games into his major-league career (Chi Chi Gonzalez), the Dodgers simply could not score in Texas. Then Justin Turner homered in the ninth inning Tuesday — the Dodgers’ familiar flair for the dramatic resurfacing — before Robinson Chirinos walked off Josh Ravin with a solo shot. Two runs suddenly seemed meager and inadequate.
That was the theme of the series, and it’s becoming the theme of the season — at least away from home and especially against .500-or-better teams.

ARLINGTON, Texas — A pairing of the second-highest scoring team in the National League and one of the American League’s premier hitter’s parks was not as advertised. Yasiel Puig‘s bat-breaking demonstration summed up the Dodgers’ frustration in a 4-1 loss to the Texas Rangers.
