Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw are finalists for the NL Cy Young Award.

Dodgers pitchers Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw, and Chicago Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta, are the three finalists for the National League Cy Young Award.

Greinke, who went 19-3 with a major-league leading 1.66 earned-run average, was chosen National League pitcher of the year by fellow players on Monday.

Kershaw, who won the award in 2014, went 16-7 with a 2.13 earned-run average. Arrieta was 22-6 with a 1.77 earned-run average, leading the NL in wins and shutouts (3).

The winner will be announced at 3 p.m. PT next Wednesday on MLB Network.

Greinke won the 2009 American League Cy Young Award when he pitched for the Kansas City Royals.

No other Dodgers players are finalists for the major BBWAA awards.

The Dodgers extended qualifying offers to Zack Greinke, Brett Anderson and Howie Kendrick on Friday. If any of the three players doesn’t sign the one-year, $15.8 million deal, the Dodgers would receive a compensation-round draft pick (between the first and second rounds) in 2016.

No player has ever signed a qualifying offer in the three years they’ve been available under baseball’s current Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Greinke, Anderson and Kendrick have seven days to accept or reject the offer.

Zack Greinke is officially a free agent after opting out of contract with Dodgers.

Zack Greinke officially became a free agent Wednesday after he opted out of the remaining three years and $77 million of his contract with the Dodgers.

Greinke immediately rockets to the top of a free-agent pitching class led by left-hander David Price and right-hander Johnny Cueto. He went 19-3 for the Dodgers in 2015, led the majors with a 1.66 ERA and 0.84 WHIP, and is a favorite to win the National League Cy Young Award.

Greinke was slated to make $24 million next season, followed by $23 million in 2017 and $24 million in 2018.
