More regal Doo Dah attire

It’s all about the dress, my dears. Every year I make a new creation for my foray down Colorado Boulevard and this year I have some help.

I designed and sewed a Bjork-inspired number on a dare from a fellow Doo Dah denizen. It turned out quite well, but still needed a little pizazz, so last week I went to the Mother Plucker Feather Company (www.motherplucker.com ) in Los Angeles for supplies.

Production manager and Emmy Award-winning designer Lelan Berner took me under her wing and had me model my dress as we played with various plume ideas. In the end, Lelan asked me to leave my frock with her, so she could do all the embellishing herself! ~ what an honor!!

I will be picking up the dress late Friday afternoon~ just in time for the big day. You can learn more about my attire adventures, as well as building a float for the parade by reading the Arts & Entertainment section of our newspapers (www.sgvn.com ).

If you want to see the sure-to-be-stunning creation in person, then you’ll need to come out to the

  1. Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
