What do two arrests, a cracked skull and fractured vertebrae have in common?

The answer: Toledo 13, Michigan 10.

Maybe it’s a bit presumptuous to link two disheartening events to one football game, but …

First came word that two Toledo players were arrestedafter they got drunk and belligerent late at night following the game. Then came this reportthat a Michigan football player assaulted a Michigan hockey player on campus early the next morning. That Michigan hockey player happened to be defenseman Steve Kampfer, the Ducks’ fourth-round pick in the 2007 draft. According to one report, Kampfer has a cracked skull and broken vertebrae. That’s just great.

It’s just a game except, apparently, when it’s Michigan football.
