Brian Burke is out, Bob Murray in.

Brian Burke stepped down as general manager of the Ducks. He will be replaced immediately by assistant GM Bob Murray, who has worked with Burke dating back to their time in Vancouver.

Burke, who built the 2006-07 Stanley Cup champions, will stay on in an advisory capacity to make Murray's transition smoother. But it's clear he wanted to be phased out as soon as possible, and said in a press conference this afternoon at Honda Center he expects Ducks CEO Michael Schulman to file the paperwork that will allow him to talk to other teams in "about a week," Burke said.

More details in tomorrow's editions. Check out anaheimducks.com for press conference videos.
