Mikkelson recalled from Iowa.

Defenseman Brendan “Phil” Mikkelson got the call-up from Iowa for tonight’s game against the Kings, and he is expected to join the team on their six-game road trip beginning Friday in Detroit.

The Ducks had been playing with six defensemen recently, thanks to a thin stretch of three games in 10 days and a healthy lineup. By calling up Mikkelson, who played 16 games with the Ducks in his first NHL stint last month, there’s some insurance in case of an injury on the road.
