McIver traded to Vancouver.

In a whirlwind 24 hours for the unheralded defenseman, Nathan McIver is going back to the Vancouver Canucks for RW Mike Brown.

With Samuel Pahlsson going on IR with a viral infection, there's room on the NHL roster for Brown, who joins the Ducks in Minnesota today. McIver will report to the Canucks' AHL affiliate in Winnipeg. The Ducks originally claimed McIver off waivers from Vancouver on Oct. 4 of last year.

Brown (career stats) appeared in 20 contests with the Canucks this season, collecting one assist and 85 penalty minutes. He was tied for second on the club in PIM at the time of the trade. The 6-0, 210-pound winger played in 19 games with Vancouver in 2007-08. He scored his first NHL goal on Dec. 2, 2007 at Minnesota in just his third NHL game. In 39 career NHL contests over two seasons, Brown has earned 1-1=2 points with 140 PIM.
