Postgame coaches' quotes.
Ducks Head Coach Randy Carlyle
Q) On Ducks Start.
Q) On goaltending and hard work.
A) That is what your goaltender has to do, give you a chance night in and night out. Giguere (Jean-Sebastien) gave us a chance to win the hockey game. We got some guys that scored some goals, it was nice to see Brown (Mike) awarded for his hard work. Those are things that are important for all members of your hockey club, when you get guys like that making a contribution.
Buffalo Sabres Head Coach Lindy Ruff
Q) you know its tough that you canʼt have mistakes, you donʼt need bad bounces and mistakes right off the bat..
Yeah, it was a tough mistake, you know a careless mistake on Tonyʼs part, you donʼt want your goaltender to face break aways first opportunity I thought we picked it up and played pretty well for the next 30 minutes but we didnʼt take advantage of some really good situations and a bounce here or there will beat you.
Q) it seemed like you guys lost a little zest after they scored that second goal..
A) I agree, it did put us back a little bit we had it going again for a little while, but once they got the lead you saw that there were a lot of bodies back and it was going to be a dump and chase. I didnʼt think we won quite enough battles, we didnʼt quite get there.

He betrayed his blue-blooded beginnings by graduating from UCLA in 2003, and welcomes any and all dialogue on the finer points of hockey.
