Reports: Christensen in; Pahlsson, Huskins, Moen out. Update.
Shortly after the noon trade dealine passed, TSN.ca reported that the Ducks have acquired fifth-year forward Erik Christensen from the Atlanta Thrashers for Eric O'Dell, whom the Ducks took in the second round of last year's draft.
Sportsnet.ca is reporting that Samuel Pahlsson has been shipped to the Chicago Blackhawks for defenseman James Wisniewski and a conditional pick.
In a separate deal, a Ducks spokesperson confirmed that Travis Moen and Kent Huskins are going to San Jose in exchange for two prospects (center Nick Bonino goalie Timo Pielmeier) and a conditional 2009 fourth-round draft pick.
The trades solve the question of what to do with three of their expiring contracts: Pahlsson, Moen and Huskins were all due to become free agents July 1. Only four players have played more games in a Ducks uniform than Pahlsson, who missed the past 13 games battling mononucleosis.
Christensen, 25, is owed $750,000 this season and becomes a restricted free agent July 1. He was the Thrashers' second-line center this season and could represent an upgrade over Andrew Ebbett.
Wisniewski, who has split the season between the NHL and the AHL, gives the Ducks seven healthy defensemen. Huskins was on IR with a broken foot, waiting to begin a skating program.

He betrayed his blue-blooded beginnings by graduating from UCLA in 2003, and welcomes any and all dialogue on the finer points of hockey.
