Meet James Wisniewski.

The defenseman was acquired for Sammy Pahlsson from Chicago on Wednesday, and established himself as probably the least loquacious of the Ducks' new arrivals. A perfect replacement for Pahlsson.

On coing back from July knee surgery: "We held off a little longer. I tried to come back even earlier than I did, but being my third one we wanted to make sure I was 100 percent, which I was. Everything's been perfect since then."

Were you limited in past weeks? "No, not at all."

How do you see yourself as a defenseman? "I guess, a guy who can add offensively, I like to play physical, be a little tenacious, I guess. You try to (do a little of everything). I'm not saying I can do everything good, but I try."

On being traded: "I was a little shocked at first because I was waiting around 2 o'clock, 2:15, 2:20, then all of a sudden I got a phone call from Toronto, asked how it felt to be traded to Anaheim. I was like, 'I don't know. Just finding out now.' It's the nature of the beast. Good time for me to part ways with Chicago. They were great to me throughout my whol professional career. Now it's time to flip the page and start a new one."

On what Wednesday was like: "Phone calls and text messages from everybody, so just back up. It hasn't really sunk in yet. I get a phone call, packing, now your'e on a flight, now you're here and practicing. I'm not really settled in yet. It's hectic, but in a good way."

On being able to play more in Anaheim: "That's what we were looking for. Campbell and, it's just a lot of offensive guys there. Power-play time. That's why I say it was time to part ways. I wasn't getting quite the quality of minutes I wanted to."
