Stars 3, Ducks 2.

With the team losing guys that they won a Stanley Cup with, I think the chemistry in the room is going to take a while to adjust. Some of the guys just don't know the new guys here, like me. It might just take a couple of games for everything to feel somewhat normal again. I thought we played well. We put a lot of shots on goal. Turco stood on his head.
On his penalty early in the first period
It was just a bad break. I was nervous for sure. You try to make a good first impression and on the first shift, you take a penalty and they score. It's not the best feeling. I wasn't trying to hook him. I tried to lift his stick and be aggressive. It got caught up in his hands.

On the teams fighting for the final playoff spots in the Western Conference
Everybody is going to beat each other and it's going to be real tough. Obviously, we want to get the points here at home. It's not about the other team right now, it's about us trying to win games and trying to put ourselves in a good situation. It's up to us.
On the play at home
We have great fan support and it's always a fun building to play in. (Winning) It just hasn't worked. For some reason, maybe we try to make it a little too complicated. They capitalized on their chances tonight and I thought Marty played well.
Randy Carlyle
I think there is a "feeling out" period. I thought our whole team played hard. It wasn't a lack of effort. It was a lack of execution. We got frustrated a little bit. The one thing that we'd like to correct is we took four offensive zone penalties. We made some mistakes and we paid for it. I cannot complain with the work ethic. We have to rally our troops for Sunday and not be down with this.
On Marty Turco
I think with the number of chances that we did create and the pucks we directed at the net, he made some big stops. Some stops he didn't even see. But that is when things are going your way as a goalie and things are hitting you. You have to take your hat off to him. He battled and had made the stops for their hockey club.
Marty Turco
Personally, I felt good. Physically, I felt good - but mentally, I felt bad with the melt down last night. It's just not the type of scenario you want to put yourself in, with the dog-fight we are in. To this groups credit, we rallied around it. That's the type of mentality we have to have to collect points and stay in the playoff picture. We did that. It was a great effort tonight from everybody. It was something that we needed - those guys poured it on and we were surviving. It was a good time to see it. That being said, we have a quick turnaround with an afternoon game on Sunday back home. We've just got to stick with it.
On keeping momentum
You can't overstate the importance of points. Playing well and knowing that our belief is that if we play like we have been on this road trip, good things will happen. But we've got to continue to give ourselves every opportunity to keep that momentum and really keep that feeling that everybody is contributing and doing the little things to create winning hockey. Tonight was a prime example against a hungry team in their barn, which is a tough place to play. We were willing to do those things and to hold on in the third, after the last week or so coughing up some, it's a good sign. Like I said, it's a moot point because not much really changes in the standings and we've got to get back after it soon.
Loui Eriksson
It was really important. We needed points. We got the points. That is so important for us right now. I think we had a solid game. Turco was really good for us again today and we got the two points.
On different players stepping up
It's a team game and the new guys have really stepped up here. Like I said, it was a big win for us today and I think the whole group did a great job.
Dave Tippett
On response after last night's game
It was a very disappointing night last night. We got a point. Coming in here, we knew they were sitting here rested, waiting for us. We knew we were going to have to play a hard hockey game. They were going to put a lot of pucks on the net. We have to defend our net well. I thought they did threw a lot of pucks there. We were under siege. I thought we did a good job battling in front of the net and not giving second opportunities. Our power play got us an early one, Loui Eriksson got us a great one in the third period. It was enough to win.
On
We don't do anything easy around here. Just the fact you go through those hard things - you are finding ways to win games, it gives the team confidence.
On Eriksson's third period goal
It was just a great shot at a key time. That is something that can be very demoralizing for the other team. If they feel like they are coming at you and then you get that one to push it two ahead, that's a big boost for our team. He had a big night.
