Iowa's issues increasing.

The Ducks' former AHL affiliate, the Iowa Chops, catalyzed the severance of the teams' affiliation agreement by failing to meet their payment obligations.

Now it appears the franchise's financial woes run much deeper.
According to a report in today's Des Moines Register, the Chops owners violated an AHL rule by pledging the assets of their club as a collateral for a loan last year. AHL President Dave Andrews told the paper, "There is no one that has their franchise as collateral with a bank. If you pledge your franchise, we eliminate you.
