Ducks sign Kyle Calder to PTO.
The Ducks have signed unrestricted free agent left wing Kyle Calder signed a pro tryout agreement.
In 74 games last year for the Kings, Calder had 8 goals and 27 points. He has 114 goals and 292 points in a career that began in 1999-2000 with Chicago. He's only four years removed from a 26-goal season with the Blackhawks, but hasn't scored more than 14 in a season since.

J.P. Hoornstra has been covering the Anaheim Ducks since 2007. Eight months after the University of Wisconsin won its third NCAA hockey championship, he was born in a frigid Madison winter. He betrayed his blue-blooded beginnings by graduating from UCLA in 2003, and welcomes any and all dialogue on the finer points of hockey.
