Levasseur wins CHL award.

Goaltender Jean-Phillippe Levasseur, who’s had as hard a time as anyone dealing with the Ducks’ lack of an American Hockey League, at least got a pat on the back from the third-tier Central Hockey League on Thursday.

Levasseur was named the CHL’s goaltender of the month for the month of November, following his 6-1-1 month for the Laredo (Texas) Bucks. The 22-year-oldhad a 2.29 goals-against average, allowing 19 goals in his eight starts. He stopped 215 of 234 shots for a .919 save percentage. Three of Levasseur’s six wins in the month came in shootouts, where he stopped a total of 13 out of 14 shootout attempts.

Levasseur was taken in the seventh round of the 2005 draft by the Ducks and spent all of last season with the now-defunct Iowa Chops of the AHL.
