On a night when Ryan Getzlaf missed his first game of the season — along with injured forwards Teemu Selanne and Joffrey Lupul — Ducks head coach Randy Carlyle had his work cut out for him Tuesday against the Minnesota Wild. The Ducks recalled right wing Troy Bodie from AHL Toronto on Monday after placing forward Kyle Calder on waivers. Calder has until 9 a.m. Tuesday to be claimed by another team, and can be reassigned by the Ducks if he goes unclaimed.
Bodie had8 goals and 13 points with 56 penalty minutes in 32 AHL games this season split between the Toronto Marlies and San Antonio Rampage, where he started the season. The 6-foot-4, 214-pound winger went scoreless in four games with the Ducks last season, his first in the NHL.
The 30-year-old Calder had no goals and two assists in 14 games with Anaheim this season after signing a one-year contract on Oct. 28. After participating in the Ducks’ training camp on a pro tryout contract, Calder was sent to Anaheim’s ECHL affiliate in Bakersfield, where he scored three goals and six points in five games.
It’s been a busy week for the Ducks-contracted players currently in the AHL. There’s a total of six, which has to be the lowest for any NHL club, and four of them switched teams this week.

Some of the Ducks’ top prospects are flying north this winter.
The Coyotes under new head coach Dave Tippett have gone with an older lineup, and several former young NHLers (Kyle Turris, Viktor Tikhonov, Mikkel Boedker, et. al.) have spent most or all of the season in San Antonio.
The Toronto Marlies are the AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
