iCame, iSaw, iGot Paid 100 Bucks by My Aunt to Wait Here...
The obligatory iPhone post -- what self-respecting blogger could ignore the hype? Heck, this'll probably drive a couple more hits to this humble blog...
So I got to the Glendale Galleria at 10 a.m., and the line was bout 150 long and snaking from the mall Apple store, rounding the corner at Abercrombie & Fitch then out to the parking garage and beyond.

Most came prepared -- a deck of cards, poker chips, iPods or portable video game system of choice, a good book. The real techies had notebooks with portable power sources to keep them plugged-in well past 6 p.m., when the phones official go on sale...
The lucky dozen at the front of the line -- the die-hards who arrived as early as 11 p.m. last night and slept in their cars before the Galleria doors open at 8 a.m. -- include a couple of guys who bought the hype, a Japanese journalist prepped to shoot online reports once he gets his hands on the hot property (they won't be out in Japan for a while...), and a couple of college guys looking to flip the phone for a quick few hundred bucks profit on eBay.
Then there were the two elementary-school age boys who were paid $100 by their aunt to wait in her place while she's at work. That's it? One hundred dollars? Their word of the day -- leverage -- as in, "I got your iPhone -- how much is that really worth to you?"
