A little Warner Bros. on your wall

3001.jpg Just in time for the holidays (OK, almost too late if you celebrate Hanukkah) Warner Bros. is offering for sale images from its collection of films and TV shows. With the launch, the studio is selling photos from 300, A Christmas Story, CHiPs, Forbidden Planet, Friends, Gilligan's Island, The Goonies, Gone With the Wind, King Kong, The Lost Boys, Nip/Tuck and The Wizard of Oz. In a press release, the studio informs us of this handy fact: "Orders are filled on-site, in the heart of the Warner Bros. Studio lot." I don't know why that's such a big deal, but fans of the studio can know that their print passed through the hands of someone at the Burbank facility. What a thrill. The photos are available at www.WBPhotocollection.com.

Comments

When I was a kid, you could just write to the studios and they would send you (usually several) promotional prints, signed by the star, for free. Packed in a box somewhere I'm sure I still have a still from "The FBI" signed by Efrem Zimbalist Jr.

I guess alternative revenue streams are needed these days.

East of the 5

The news and views from Glendale, Burbank and adjacent 'hoods, brought to you by Daily News reporter Alex Dobuzinskis (And yes, we know a chunk of Burbank is WEST of the 5, but "Mostly East of the 5" doesn't quite have the same ring to it.)
