Another day, another recall

Two actually*. And neither one connected to China - at least not yet.
One for consumers warning about the possible contamination of shigella in packaged baby carrots.
The other is political.

You can file this under "Totally Useless Trivia". When this story surfaced, I learned that not all baby carrots start out as "babies". In fact, many mass-produced baby carrots are full grown members of that veggie family. They become babies after being "processed" in a huge tumbler-like device that shaves them down to size. Wonder what happens to the missing parts.

Are you sure it wasn't the unnatural looking orange color that the carrots are painted that was recalled?
