The paper has done a good job of covering Glasman's wide range of representing various cities in the valley....I have often wondered why he is apparently in such demand? The article explains it for me....he apparently isn't being hired as an attorney or for his legal advice, he is being hired for his re-development experience and contacts! As the Mayor stated - "Tomorrow we already have meetings scheduled with developers" and as Glasman stated - "Any developer or anyone who does business is looking for skilled, stable leadership...what Richard and I both bring to the table is that we have a track record of accomplishing projects." Glasman makes it clear that he is proud of his ability to get projects done....only one problem, that is not his job! He is not an elected official that is accountable to the public which he serves, he is an attorney hired to provide legal advice not to negoiate, steer or "accomplish" big development deals with his "contacts". The folks in Montebello should consider making the city attorney an elected position vs. appointed.
