Op-eds, columns and news

| |

There are obviously differences between these categories. Opinions are just that. They don't have to be fair or give the other side or even add context. News is just the facts. Columns can be hybrids of news and analysis. Frank Girardot's column is one example and a new one from reporters Jennifer Mclain and Tania Chatila is another. It's news with an edge. Now it should be clearly marked and the latter wasn't this weekend. That's been fixed on the web at least.

FRANK GIRARDOT

This is group blog that includes Kate Kealey, night editor for SGVN, Frank Girardot, city editor, and Edward Barrera, Metro Editor.

This is a forum to discuss our paper, the media and coverage of stories and communities. occasionally, we will digress. Please be indulgent.
