After nearly a year of inaccurate payments, district officials say the system is 80% repaired.

The official message is simple: Starting today, nearly all teachers and other employees in the Los Angeles Unified School District finally will get paid the right amount.
The reassurance comes after nearly a year of payroll problems, including over- and underpayments. Some teachers' paychecks have varied widely from month to month, without a coherent explanation of the calculations.
Here's the full story.

What gets me mad is that my union SEIU Local 99, knew back when this BTS was first being planned, had first hand knowledge that BTS doesn't work. The LACCD, Los Angeles Community College District which is under Local 99 was having and still is having problems with it. The Union was under trusteeship (2005,2006) and did not fight against it. Why did Local 99 trustee at the time, (who wants to be the new executive director of Local 99) allow this monster of a system to proceed without any questions? So members must try to figure out the overpayments and underpayments. That happened to me, both over and under payments. One example is that I am still trying to get fully paid for District training from February 2007. Can you believe that 9 months have passed and I am still trying? Amazing? My payment options arrived today, with 4 options of repayment. Option 2 requires me to prove that the district is wrong. Option 3 requires me to also prove things to the IRS. This whole thing is nothing but me trying to fix what cannot be fixed, (ex. LACCD) and for we, the employees to live with the mistakes of the District. We all know that the District will somehow get away with not paying the total hours that we worked during 2007. Thank you LAUSD and SEIU Local 99 for the headaches
