Chino Valley Unified School District on Wednesday learned of the loss of its superintendent of four years, Edmond Heatley, to a school district in Georgia.

In recent months, Heatley has been searching for a new job out of state. He succeeded on Tuesday, when the Clayton County Schools System board voted 7 to 2 to hire Heatley.

Heatley confirmed his acceptance of the new job to district officials on Wednesday.

"Dr. Heatley leaving our district will be a loss, however I wish Dr. Heatley well; I'm certain he will achieve great accomplishments in (Georgia)," said Sylvia Orozco, district board president.  "I have the utmost respect for him as a leader.  He moved our district towards a positive direction as well as developed an effective team that will allow us to continue to move forward."

Orozco said a meeting is scheduled to consider the process of hiring a new superintendent on June 2 at the District office. The meeting is tentatively at 6 p.m., added boardmember Michael Calta.

I'm a parent from one of the schools that will be closing. I'm very upset regarding Heatley's decision of closing the schools now that he's leaving a mess here he decides to leave. How nice of you Heatley, to do this to our childrens leaving them without their schools it really!!! I wish you the best and I hope you wont mess up again like you did here in Chino Valley School District. I know our children will never miss Heatley, they are happy that your leaving far away. Orozco, for a fact I now that you could save the schools but I dont see so much effert on it with you. You and Heatley said "Think about the childrens but deep in side me you both only though about your guys $$$$$$.

I wish the best for Dr Heatley in his new job, but I hope he doesn't leave a mess in his new job like he did here in Chino Valley Unified School District . He didn't thought in all the damage he caused in the community, kids and teachers . I hope that this time the board of education thinks twice in all the qualities of the new superintendent needs to have but the first thing he needs to have is involvement with the community and ask all the community before he makes a decision that involves all the community .
