Correction in Education Now

The Page A4 report "Alta Loma School District receives $54,000" on Feb. 8 contained incorrect information.

The board's approval of maintaining 24-to-1 student-teacher ratios in first through third grades is contingent upon state funding levels. The district's current ratio is 20-to-1.

But the decision has been made to use the flexibility provision, which allows the district to staff at a higher ratio with respect to Class Size reduction.
