Stagecoach Fest additions

More acts have been announced for the newly-added May 2 Stagecoach Festival date in Indio:

Shooter Jennings, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Chuck Wicks, Sons of San Joaquin and Don Edwards join previously annouced headliner The Eagles, plus John Fogerty, Trisha Yearwood, Shelby Lynne and Glen Campbell.

Eddie Vedder solo; more Police show details

Eddie Vedder will do some rare solo gigs on April 12-13 at the Wiltern Theatre and April 15 at Speckles Theatre in San Diego, according to Pollstar. No on sale info yet.

That Police show at the Hollywood Bowl on May 27 goes on sale at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24. The prices, without surcharges, are (take a breath)...

George Strait coming to Carson

Clean up those cowboy boots.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday for George Strait with Little Big Town. They will play Home Depot Center at Cal State Dominguez Hills in Carson on March 29.

Reba headed to Highland

Reba McEntire will perform at San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino in Highland on July 3, according to her web site and Pollstar. No word on ticket on sale info yet. Unfortunately, it is not part of the dual Kelly Clarkson tour, which starts next month.

Queens of the Stone Age in Palm Desert

Josh Homme returns home to the desert for a benefit show next month. His bands Queens of the Stone Age and Eagles of Death Metal will perform at a venue that rarely (if ever) books alternative rock shows – the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert on Dec. 9.

Tickets are $30-$50 and on sale at 9 a.m. Friday through the McCallum box office, mccallum-theatre.com and (760) 340-2787.

Net proceeds go to Coachella Valley organizations including Operation Safe House and Palm Desert High School.

Update: Springsteen LA show confirmation

OK, I was wrong.

Word came in today that Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band will play the L.A. Sports Arena on Oct. 29.

The old venue is home to many past Springsteen tours, including the Tunnel of Love Express where I caught 'em for the first time in '88.

Tickets go on sale next Saturday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. Prices are still TBA.

LA Weekly Detour Festival

The Second Annual LA Weekly Detour Festival lineup has been announced.

Bloc Party, Perry Farrell's Satellite Party, electronica act Justice, Kinky, The Raveonettes, Shout Out Louds, Teddybears, Turbonegro, the Aggrolites, Moving Units and Autolux are among the performers.

Tickets are $35.50 for the Downtown LA event (Main & First St.) on Oct. 6.
On sale noon Thursday through Ticketmaster. A portion of proceeds benefit Tree People.

Morrissey back in Hollywood

Just can't get enough of Moz?

He's already played the Pasadena Civic, Riverside Muni and Hollywood Bowl.
Now the revered British singer will do 10 shows at the Hollywood Palladium soon.

The dates: Oct. 1,2, 4-6, 8-9, 11-13

There will be no surcharge for fans with enough dough to buy tix for all 10.
Those who do will gain early entry into the venue and an additional discount.
The special packages will be available starting Monday at 10 a.m.-Sept. 5 at 10 p.m. through livenation.com and ticketmaster.com.

Ben Harper concert dates

Ben Harper will play two shows at LA's Orpheum Theatre on Nov. 8-9. Tickets are $50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 25.

He also headlines Day 1 of the Sunset Junction Street Fair in Silverlake on Aug. 18.
New studio album "Lifelines" is due out on Aug. 28.

More free OzzFest tickets at Hyundai Pavilion

Both the Hyundai Pavilion and Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre box offices will be open Friday from 9 am-4 pm to give away free OzzFest tickets for July 21. The Hyundai box office will also be open the day of the show at 11 am until all tickets are claimed.
