A Quick Introduction
Hello, fantasy freaks, and welcome to Fantasy Island.
Instead of Ricardo Montalban, I will be your host. Picture me waving.
Week One of the NFL season is over, and I apologize for not checking in sooner. How about a quick introduction?
My name is Jon Gold, and I have been an avid (re: obsessed) fantasy sports player for five years. I've written about fantasy sports for four years, including college football and professional hockey.
Yes, it is an addiction.
My likes: Fantasy sports (um, no doy), real sports, high school football, Ruth's Chris steak, Entourage, Judd Apatow comedies, the Denver Broncos, the waiver wire and Doo-Wop music.
My dislikes: Anything Oakland Raiders, vetoed fantasy trades and Renee Zelwegger. Her squinty eyes get on my nerves.
I attended Thousand Oaks High School and played football; my teammates are still my best friends, and I miss playing on Friday nights more than anything. After, I ignored heavy recruiting (re: one recruiting dinner) from Ventura College to attend San Diego State and start my sportswriting career.
Oh, one more like: California burritos.
Feel free to chime in here at any time, and please don't hesitate to shoot me an email at either jon.gold@dailynews.com or sportswriteraztec@yahoo.com. You can also add me on Facebook, where I'll be starting a Daily News Fantasy Football group.
Thanks for reading everyone, and take care. Except you Raiders fans.
