Taking a break from the TCA Press Tour, last night's ABC All Star bash at the Beverly Hilton Hotel brought out a bunch of celebs with Disney-appropriate smiles to show off and shows to promote. Everyone looked nice and played nice too: I guess guests were making sure they left with the TV gig they came with. Well played ladies (and gents).

"High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens wore Jay Godfrey’s nude 4-ply silk reverse halter dress featuring gold braiding....which was neither high school or musical-y in style, thank goodness.
Angie Harmon of the new "Women's Murder Club" wore an emerald silk jersey cocktail dress by Jay Godfrey, and accessorized with a brown leather clutch by Mary Norton.

The ladies of the upcoming movie "Hairspray" had the locks on lock but it was the bags that made the subtle difference at Tuesday's L.A. premiere of the film.
The leader of the pack was the Queen (Latifah) herself who had more fun with platinum blonde for this blowout, but made a surefire accessory pick with a little black clutch by Daniel Swarovski.

Meanwhile, on a more naturally tress-ed part of the red carpet, funny girl Amanda Bynes kept the energy up as she flashed a sparkling smile (and a Swarovski crystal-accented Mary Norton clutch) for the cameras and her fans.
But the prize goes to Kelly Preston who accompanied her husband (ya know, the original JT) to the premiere in this glittery number and an ivory satin Daniel Swarovski clutch with a crystal covered clasp.

While couples around the world were tying the knot in hopes of having a marraige just a tad luckier than the rest of us, a lucky many were enjoying one of the Live Earth concerts that were happening in seven locations worldwide Saturday, including a few sexy (and conscious) stars who came out to support the push for increased awareness of the climate crisis.
Model Petra Nemcova made an appearance at the New York show wearing a Catherine Malandrino silk cotton button front bubble dress...
"Is it me or is it hot out here?
"Call me if you wanna talk environment. Nemcova, out!"
Meanwhile, on another side of the globe, singer Rihanna selected a different piece from the same Malandrino Spring/Summer 2007 line to jazz up her Tokyo show appearance: a studded satin cropped jacket that popped more than her hit single, "Umbrella."
It seems that it was just too hot to actually sing so Rihanna enlisted the help of her audience (who were too mesmerized by the glare of the aformentioned jacket to notice anyway).
Talk about making a statement. Hot!

Rapper/producer Kanye West took a style page out of the 80s (but, really, who hasn't lately) for his new video "Stronger," a song from his upcoming album, "Graduation," set to release in the fall.
I know what you might be thinking, Where did he get those glasses and how many window shutters died to make them possible? Never scared to take a fashion or music risk, Mr. West sought out eyewear designer Alain Mikli who custom made the shades in his Paris shop specifically for the artist's new video.
The song is hot but the video takes me back to the feeling of watching Michael Jackson's "Dont Stop 'Til You Get Enough" video (somewhere between being enchanted and having vertigo). Despite this ocular abuse, I continue to watch. And I'll probably watch again (except, maybe with my own set of shades this time.)
UPDATE: Kanye rocked with friends while rockin some familiar frames at last night's Concert for Diana in London.
Something tells me this wont be the last we'll see of the Mikli shades.
Whether or not they are now the property of London's royal court has yet to be determined.
