Aaaand, the men.

Wanted to give credit to the men of the awards season. Without you....well, there'd be no one stepping on our dresses....but that's neither here nor there. We do enjoy watching your well-tailored behind (and front) make it's way down the red carpet. For instance....

John Krasinski (bka "Jim") of the SAG-winning show "The Office" chose this Prada two-button black tuxedo and slim black satin tie for the evening out.

johnK_SAG.jpg

A good look for picking up your second consecutive SAG win in that category.

Best Supporting Actor nominee Casey Affleck shaved off the recent stubble he'd been wearing for the night's festivities and tried on a few other looks for size...namely, this one.

caseyA_SAG.jpg

And this one.

79285392.jpg

Aaaand this one.

79286052.jpg

Oh, and thissss-a-one.

79286051.jpg

Hmmm, tough choice.

We already know the gal can work an umbrella (ella, ey...eh, uh *cough*).

Ri_1.jpg

But this stylish songstress worked the camera at last weekend's NRJ Music Awards in Cannes.

Ri_2.jpg

The bare-backed (you know what i mean) Rihanna let no angle go un-photographed...

Ri_3.jpg

...or no ear go un-adorned as she chose these star-shaped diamond drop earrings by Chopard (bangles and rings also by Chopard) to make a proper, Cannes-worthy appearance.

Ri_4.jpg Au revoir. *Kiss kiss* We'll miss (all sides of) you, Rihanna.

SAG: Fav.

Even though it was the Screen Actors Guild Awards, my personal fav to see on the red carpet is the wife of actor Forest Whitaker, Keisha.

79285377.jpg

She's always fresh-faced and las night looked flawless in pink and sparkled with the help of her this Daniel Swarovski clutch.

79285375.jpg

I know she's not acting...but give the lady an award for something already.

79286651.jpg

Presenter: For her role as the model turned mama and wife of an Oscar-winner working the red carpet...Keisha Whitaker. *Applause*

SAG: Swim.wear.

The mermaid look was not in short supply at SAG as ladies allowed for just enough room between fabric and leg to strut down the red carpet gracefully.

"Ugly Betty" star Ana Ortiz did it in a black Pamela Dennis strapless with a dramatic "umbrella" hem...

79286716.jpg

...while "Hairspray's" bright-eyed Brittany Snow did it in a sequin gown with chiffon hem by Zuhair Murad...

79286069.jpg

(Getty Images)

SAG: Bold, beautiful.

When the weather is so gray, Yay to color, I say.

Vanessa Williams is never one to shy away from bold looks, herself.

79285862.jpg

And in this sunshine yellow strapless by Escada, the multi-talented actress is def a winner in our book (if not in SAG's).

79286021.jpg

Can't stop; won't stop (go get 'em Vanessa).

(Getty Images)

SAG: Mo frills.

A complete 180 from the blue (blah) scrubs, TV doc Sandra Oh went ultra girlie with this pink bow-embellished dress, and Mikimoto diamond drop earrings...

79283238.jpg

...while Becki Newton, staying true to her fashionista "Ugly Betty" character, showed her softer side with this cascading chiffon dress by Elsie Katz.

79282996.jpg

(Getty Images)

SAG: Embellish it.

Actress Taraji P. Henson's was goin for the gold with this silver torso embellishment on her Bradley Bayou white chiffon dress...

79282916.jpg

...And hope of warmer, more tropical weather may have been inspiration for Jane Krakowski's choice of the Chiquita banana-esque neck embellishment of her Malandrino jersey halter.

79283283.jpg

SAG: Glamorous housewives.

Teri Hatcher worked this glamorous dress with a matching cream and metallic clutch by Mary Norton...

79283268.jpg

...while "Desperate" co-star Brenda Strong went dark in this equally glamorous, intricately beaded dress by Tadashi Shoji.

79282689.jpg (Getty Images)

SAG: Get low.

While "Juno" star Allison Janney kept it sweet and traditional with this low-key lavendar Pamella Roland dress...

79282676.jpg

...Lisa Rinna was on the prowl in this low-cut Jenny Packham leopard-print dress.

79282162.jpg (Getty Images)

SAG: When You Wish Upon a Star...

Golden Globes got the boot and Oscars are getting a shake down. But you (yes, you) wished hard enough, and you got a cruel-free SAG Awards tonight in a rainy - (or are those Hillary's tears?) - LA.

79282956.jpg

Dust off the red carpet...it's been awhile...and may be awhile longer.

I Feel Pre-tty!

Like when Jada married Will, I'm still getting used to calling Eva Longoria...a Parker. It's easier giving her positive reviews on the tasteful look she chose to put together for today's London appearance in promotion of her new so-so movie (postive reviews don't come that easy!) "Over Her Dead Body."

EvaLong_prem.jpg

The littlest of the "Deseperate Housewives" is usually the biggest on style, and today was no exception as she opted for a very sophisticated look marked by this bold silk blue blouse by Kenneth Cole.

EvaLong2_prem.jpg

Our motto: Dress to impress! (Even if the flicks fail to do so.)

Forget the little black dress, Hollywood starlets are thinking more along the lines of the big black coat to keep their little dress-wearing selves warm during their stay in Utah for the Sundance Film Festival.

JAlba_Sundance.jpg

Mom-to-be Jessica Alba accented her black coat with a shimmering silver scarf by Kenneth Cole New York.

JAlba2_Sundance.jpg (@premiere of "Made In America" Sunday)

Mexican actress Adriana Barraza (below, far right) chose this Kenneth Cole belted coat as the ideal options for beating the brick weather at yesterday's premiere of "Henry Poole Is Here ."

Adriana Barraza2_Sundance.jpg

The other ideal option? Cozying up with the anyone who'll let you.

AdrianaBarazza2_Sundance.jpg

Lucky her "Henry Poole" castmembers don't mind getting close!

But I must give credit to Mary Lynn Rajskub, not only because she went ahead and rocked that little black dress at the Sundance premiere of "Sunshine Cleaning" this past weekend..

marylynn_SUNDANCE.jpg

...but because she resisted the call of the big black coat in the most stylish way.

marylynn2_SUNDANCE.jpg

In the case of outerwear vs. the cold: White was right.

Sexy and "Smart"

Sarah Jessica Parker is on the scene, and we can't wait to see her on the screen this May in the "Sex and the City" movie. Yesterday, however, she was out promoting a different flick at the Sundance Festival premiere of her new romantic-dramedy "Smart People," out earlier in April (score!).

SJP_cast.jpg

Along with her cast, SJP was stylin with hubby Matthew Broderick by her side...

SJP_hub.jpg

...and Mikimoto around her neck.

SJP_mikmo.jpg

The classic accessories complimented her New York-meets-Utah-in-the-winter (*wink wink*) look.

Looking forward to: WAYW-meets-SJP-in-the-spring!

A box clutch isn't some type of self-defense move. No. But it is a young actress' accessory of choice (at least recently) to complete that sophisticated look.

Like Jurnee at the RBN Awards, "Cloverfield" actress Odette Yustman chose a box clutch by Daniel Swarovski to the premiere of the freaky Blair Witch Project-meets-Godzilla (minus the chimp) flick in LA last night.

CLOVprem_Odette Yustman.jpg

Notable/strange sightings from the premiere:

A red-haired Ashley Simpson.

CLOV_aSimpson.jpg

A (still?) engaged Spencer and Heidi (for all you "The Hills" fans).

CLOV_engaged.jpg

A grilled out actor turned rapper impersonator.

CLOV_grilledout.jpg

A headless Lady Liberty.

CLOV_headlessSOL.jpg

An unemployed/weighing-her-options Lauren Conrad (another one for you "The Hills" fans).

CLOV_LC.jpg

A mane-enhancing Tisdale.

CLOV_superHAIR.jpg

A cardboard cut-out of Lindsay Lohan.

CLOV_lohan1.jpg

OH, my bad, actually Lindsay Lohan.

Awards: They Shall Be Given.

Last night's National Board Of Review Awards Gala brought out some big names and some names to remember.

Golden Globe winner Julie Christie stepped out to accept the award for Best Actress in "Away from Her" glowing from the attention...or the Chopard diamond necklace she chose for the occasion.

jchristie_nbr.jpg

And the young actress who should see some recognition for her role in "The Great Debaters," Jurnee Smollett, was in good spirits with her co-stars at the NBR event.

79008010.jpg

What's up with Denzel and his all-the-way buttoned look these days??

denzo.jpg

It's so prison guard-ish (I mean, we love him all the same but...come on, let the neck breathe!)

Anyway, Jurnee, looking lovely and very grown up accessorized her lots-o-frills strapless with this box clutch by Daniel Swarovski.

WAYW says: We like your style, Jurnee! (Um, not that you asked, but we do.)

Out and About: Stars

akeys_BEThon.jpg

Who doesn't love Alicia Keys?

akeys_BEThon2.jpg

Apparantly not enough people to make a difference as she accepted the "Entertainment Award" at Saturday night's BET Honors in DC, wearing this sparkle-accented dress (with a Daniel Swarovski clutch - top pic - with, of course, some sparkle action of its own).

kwash_BEThon2.jpg

While Keys was receiving, actress turned music video director (for Common, no less) was giving one (to Rep. Maxine Waters) in this embellished Grecian-inspired dress.

kwash_BEThon.jpg

On the other side of the country, Daniel Swarovski was the accessory of choice as well as Kate Walsh showed herself off at the Art of Elysium Gala in LA Saturday.

kwalsh_clutch2.jpg kwalsh_clutch.jpg

Like we say in LA: With this kind of *bling*, who needs the stars (of the plasmatic variety).

High hopes in Low temps

Good to know some actors are working (if only the red carpet).

"The L Word" star Jennifer Beals weathered the LA "storm" Sunday night in this silk (yikes!) dress by Malandrino to celebrate a new season of the Showtime series.

JBeals_LWd.jpg

Entering their fifth year, spirits were as high as Beals' platform heels.

JBeals_LWd2.jpg

Yup!

And the star of FOX's hit hopeful "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" Summer Grau dressed more appropriately for her name than the unusually chilly/dreary LA evening at last night's premiere of its first season.

SummerGlau_Term.jpg

The colorful Pamella Roland dress matched her rosy cheeks...and, hopefully, a rosier future for the up-and-comer.

SummerGlau_Term2.jpg

Only time (and Nielsen) will tell.

Lucy Who?

OK, we're totally kidding. But has Lucy Liu been on the low-low, or what?

LucyLiu_lowlow.jpg

Our favorite a$$-kickin, sh!t-talkin Queens-bred "Angel" stepped out for a "Letterman" appearance last night in this cashmere cape by Escada.

LucyLiu_cape1.jpg

We'd say something about how the Frosty the Snowman-esque look of this may not be the best way to go...but we're afraid she's not as warm and fuzzy as her outerwear would lead us to believe.

But alas...

LucyLiu_nocape2.jpg

...it was all just a set up for the fabulosity (c) crazy Kimora Lee Simmons that was hiding underneath. (I can hear see you now, Liu!)

(Getty Images)

January 8, 2008

We like her...

...but something about this dress (by Lanvin) makes us think, Is it finished?

78821583.jpg

We'll just say she was in a hurry to put little Suri and Tom to bed and didn't have time to tighten up the hem so it didn't look so much like the drapes in Tom's Suri's nursery (Yes, that's what we'll say).

(Getty Images)

The Golden Globes may be gettin the cold shoulder (no thanks - or, thanks! - to the WGA), by last night's Critics' Choice got some love from some well-accessorized actors last night in Santa Monica.

Queen Latifah (who was part of the "Hairspray" ensemble that won Best Acting Ensemble) complimented her white ensemble (OK, I'll stop) with yellow diamond studs by Chopard.

78815883.jpg

Her wrists got equal attention in this Imperial watch by the same maker...

78822418.jpg

Queen: And with these well-adorned hands, I give you...a franchise!

There's no denying that Latifah continues to do big things...hey,you know what they say: bright future, brighter accessories!

OH, you know, they.

Moving on: I have to say, actress Emily Deschanel's gold drop pendant earrings rivaled the Queen's...

78820806.jpg

...and I'm not just saying that because I'm scared of the way her eyes penetrate through the camera and into my soul!

ANYwho, I will give points to "La Vie en Rose" star Marion Cotillard for letting it all hang...from her neck as her diamond necklace (peep: heart pendant) danced around this very flirty number.

Are you sure she's...?

Halle Berry stepped out at Saturday's Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala rockin an appropriately-short shift dress and matching Rickard Shah gold snakeskin clutch.

HALLE_CLUTCH2.jpg

In case you don't spend your days and nights reading People, watching E! or...CNN, even: Halle is 7 months pregnant...poppin up around Hollywood looking so NOT 7 months pregnant.

HALLE_CLUTCH.jpg

I mean, do I really need more reasons to hate on love Halle?
