While the stars were looking extremely polished for "Hollywood's biggest night," at the tender age of 80, Oscar was still the one getting the googly eyed affections of many.
Tilda Swinton, Diablo Cody, Javier Bardem and...others who went ga-ga for the gold:
Red may have been the color trend of the evening, but the one-shoulder dress - Diane Lane, Anne Hathaway, Katherine Heigl, to name a few - was the cut favored by Hollywood's most recognized upper bods.

...but it did get a little icy when a pregnant Nicole Kidman stepped on the red carpet wearing a Balenciaga dress and a 1400 carat necklace by L'Wren Scott.
Kidman worked the more than a few thousand diamonds hanging from her neck like a pro...
...but other pregnant women are urged to consult with their doctor before operating such heavy hardware.*

I guess red hot red is what's hot for the red carpet this evening (whew!). And why not?? The powers of such a color:
It makes other not-so-famous faces red with envy.
It says, "I am a supermodel...and you...arre owt!"
It goes well with a bologna sammich.

The annual NAACP Image Awards aired last night. So if you decided not to acknowledge the fact that it was...you know....Valentine's Day, you may have caught it (with a pint of ice cream in hand...hey, no judgement!).
Some cheerful colors (and winners) made their way down the red carpet.
Vanessa Williams won an award for her role in "Ugly Betty" and a thumbs up in our book for her toned down and tone-complimenting look with this dress by Zuhair Murad.
UPN WB CW's "The Game" stars Tia Mowry and the ha-larious Wendy Raquel Robinson made an appearance before the network changed it's name and cancelled thier show, too (RIP: "Girlfriends").
Wendy: My secret to this body is running, pilates, and carrying much of the success of the show on my shoulders...and a balanced diet.
Tia and Holly Robinson Peete (below) were one of a few actresses who chose dresses by Farah Angsana, with colors and embrodery reflective of the designer's Southeast Asian roots:

While artists of the mic were savoring their moment in the very bright spotlight of the Grammys last weekend, screen actors like Penélope Cruz and Hayden Panettiere were in Berlin for one of the most prominent film festivals in the world.

It looks like it's trying to sneak into the premiere.....but I guess who wouldn't want to follow the Spanish beauty, who complimented an almost perfectly classic look with some diamond drop earrings by Chopard.
Just leave the tail in Berlin, and all will be forgiven.

Ahhh, musicians. Try that one at the Oscars.
