It's a crap job in Sherman Oaks*

Seriously folks, can we all just get along AND pick up our dogs' poop? Civil society is depending on you.
There are a few Van Nuys dog owners who could use a lifetime supply of bags and a conscience. You know who you are.
Back to Zach: In the Oaks has some noteworthy entries of late:

Zach -- if you're reading this, or if anybody else knows, is there an actual vote for these seats? When/where/how is it done? I've never seen or heard about such a vote taking place in Van Nuys, and we do have a neighborhood council. Something's either fishy or done in an incredibly ass-backward way -- and I'm hoping for ass-backward.
In any event, reading Zach at both his own blog and Laist tells me that he's the epitome of "boots on the ground" for Sherman Oaks, and the neighborhood council (or even the City Council, for that matter) would be lucky to have him.

wait, you're killing me here, Steve. You know you have a Neighborhood Council in Van Nuys with Jamie Cordero at the helm. The "cross-street" banners announce the meetings that take place the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Braude Center at 7pm. Steve, you should run. There's an HPOZ, a Civic Center, multitple parks and issues with crime - they need more good people on that board! Also, they spend $50K of your tax dollars each year.
Everyone with a brain should vote in these council elections whereever they are in the City. Live, work, play, belong to a club - a stake holder in each community doesn't mean only someone who resides in the boundary.
If you dod research in Sherman Oaks, you could - theoretically - vote for Zach in the election even if you live in Van Nuys and work in Warner Center.
I'd be satisfied with dragging myself to a meeting and writing about it. I'll try to make it to the next Van Nuys one.
