I offer my condolences to Mr. Garcia's family and friends.

That neighborhood has been "challenging" for more than 30 years. I grew up one block to the north which only has access off of Valerio. In fact as a kid, I was beaten up twice in the apartments on that block delivering the Van Nuys News (the previous version of the Daily News in its four-day week era).

Perhaps Mr. Photo-Op and the local City Council "leaders" could do something about that area for the betterment of the LA citizens living there.
