I voted. It was cold.

Temps dipped down to nearly 30 degrees in my part of CD2 last night and it was cold all day for those poll workers unfortunate enough to be tasked with hanging out all day in their suburban garage waiting for what must have been a trickle of voters for one race, two candidates.

For those who haven't gotten the scores of mailings, it's L.A. Council District 2, the runoff, with Christine Essel and Paul Krekorian (neither of whom lived in CD2 until this seat came up for grabs when Wendy Greuel ascended to the city controller's office) vying to represent the area downtown.

My daughter was sick today, and I stayed home with her.

Later, when Ilene came home, I slipped out with Poppy the dog, and we voted. Me and the dog.

The dog didn't actually vote. This isn't Chicago.

But I did.

And I will be watching the results tonight to see who gets the brass ring and 16 election-free months "in the horseshoe" of the City Council chambers.

I did not endorse in this race. I did get long-winded yesterday on the mess it's become.

I have a prediction on who is going to win. I won't say who, but let's just say nobody I know agrees with me.

I'll reveal all later, after the votes are in. (Like anybody out there a) reads this blog or b) gives a $%^ what I think.)
