June 2010 Archives
If you're frugal, or just want to be, on Saturday, June 19, 2010, you need to be at Bargain Babe Julia Scott's second annual Frugal Festival, this time in the NoHo area, indoors even, with a huge free-swap, live DJs giveaways, piles of discounts for every attendee, free (and close to my heart) Starbucks Via instant coffee, sweet raffle prizes, a $25 Restaurant.com gift card for every paying customer (admission is $5 or $10, depending on whether you're bringing swappable items).
Learn all and more at Julia's Frugal Festival mini-blog (not so mini, but a sideline to her excellent uber-blog Bargain Babe).
Go for the swag, to swap your old stuff for other people's old stuff, to soak in the atmosphere of other frugalistas ...
But also go just to witness the awesome life force that is Julia Scott.
We worked together at the Los Angeles Daily News, and she's as gutsy, determined, driven and totally and completely equipped to change the worlds of commerce, journalism and life in general with her take on living in an age of frugality, simple living, sustainable existence — whatever you want to call it.
If you're looking for someone who is creating a viable business and way of living on her own terms — and wildly succeeding at same, look no further — and help her help you by going to Frugal Fest (this Saturday!! Did I say that already?) and tapping into the sustainable style of hundreds of like-minded souls (and a few soles as well, if I can see the future correctly).
SATURDAY (NOT Sunday) SATURDAY! BE THERE! Be frugal. Get free stuff! Get rid of stuff you don't want! DO IT!!
