Her name is Krystal Ball (really), and she's running for Congress

I get lots of press releases, but when your given name is Krystal Ball and you're running for Congress, that's enough to float it to the top. She's an accountant by trade, runs an educational-software company with her husband, and says her young daughter inspired her to run for Virginia's 1st District seat. She refers to herself as an "independent reformer," which I imagine contrasts with all those not-so-independent reformers out there.

Her opponent is the incumbent U.S. Rep. Rob Wittman, a Republican, and I actually had to do a little digging to figure out that Ms. Ball is indeed a Democrat.

Not living anywhere near Virginia, I have no stake whatsoever in this race. It's just that her name is Krystal Ball.
