Mark Thompson -- dancing Fox 11 weatherman -- goes out classy

| | Comments (0) |

I've been meaning to link to this video for awhile now. It's from last month: Mark Thompson's last day doing the weather on L.A.'s Fox Channel 11:

Via L.A. Observed, I learned that Mark Thompson has a new website and is now doing weather for KFI-AM 640.

Media is a cruel business, not like the rest of the world hasn't parked in that lot with this last, lingering recession, and it can be hard to part amicably.

Mark kept it classy to the end.

Fireworks over Woodland Hills, July 4, 2011

This is what the fireworks looked like from one of the higher spots in Woodland Hills on July 4, 2011.

The fireworks were launched from the Warner Center Marriott parking structure and seen most closely from Warner Center Park -- a virtually impenetrable destination before the 9:05 p.m. start time.

But there were plenty of other spots in the area from which fireworks across the Valley could be seen. We were in one of them.
