Fontana police are conducting a sobriety and driver's license checkpoint Saturday evening.

The checkpoint will be from 6 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at the corner of Base Line Road and Americana Way, police said.

The California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, provided a grant for the operation.

BEFORE THIS CHECKPOINT is a perfect opportunity for people to visit DrinkingAndDriving.Org to learn how to prevent themselves from driving drunk!

The night before the checkpoint, people should come out to Rotolo Chevrolet's Cruise Night. DrinkingAndDriving.Org will be there to share our DUI Avoidance Lesson Plan, give out directories of designated driver services, and air fresheners which are nice in-your-face reminders not to drink and drive.

DrinkingAndDriving.Org is a Fontana-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit saving lives by teaching people how to avoid driving under the influence.

I hope the fontana police dept do another check point as close to a school as possible. It will give the school district something to discuss instead of the children like there suppose to. Maybe the fontana PTA will invite ACORN and Ms.Chavarria will discuss the Mexican mafia in fontana and how there killing and pimping out children in the present.
