The start of the 2006-07 high school basketball season is still the better part of two months away.

Not to worry, though, if you have a hankering for some hoops.

The Cerritos College Fall High School Saturday League got under way two weeks ago and wraps up on Nov. 4.

Among the entries: Poly, Compton, Los Alamitos, Mayfair, JOrdan, Wilson, Lynwood, St. John Bosco, Artesia, Gahr and Valley Christian.

A couple of cool matchups this Saturday are Jordan vs. Mayfair (10 a.m.) and Poly vs. Los Alamitos (noon). Two games are played smultaneously, beginning at 9 a.m. with the final set beginning at 1 p.m.
