Cal Poly leaves little doubt

A titanic, it wasn’t.

But Cal Poly’s 3-0 victory over Long Beach State all but wrapped up the Big West Conference volleyball title for the Mustangs Friday night.

The crowd (announced at 1,712) was nearly as big as had been anticipated. And, quite frankly, most of the locals in attendance might have been more interested in Saturday night Halloween parties than volleyball.

Local note: Former Lakewood High basketball player Tim Murphy, an assistant with the SLO men’s basketball program, was in the crowd with his family.

I can find a basketball angle anywhere.
