Double dose of joy for Jackrabbits

Friday night was a great evening for Poly High's football team, and not strictly because of what happened at Veterans Stadium.

The Jackrabbits knocked off the Pac-5's No. 1 seed (11-0) Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks, 31-21, to earn a spot in next Friday's divison semifinals against Orange Lutheran in the Home Depot Center.

The other bit of good news for Raul Lara's program?

Centennial of Corona was upset by Chaparral, 42-28, in the Inland Division.

That should move the Jackrabbits to atop the Southern California Div. I State championship game power ratings. That means that, if they win the Pac-5 division, the Jackrabbits would play in the state title game on Dec. 16 in the Home Depot Center as well.
