Long Beach down by five at halftime

Long Beach State's basketball team jumped out to a 14-9 Tuesday night against Air Force at Stanford during the College Basketball Experience.

That's the good news.

The bad news is that the 49ers trail at halftime, 30-25, largely because of a 15-0 run by the Falcons.

OK, want some more "good" news?

Long Beach only trails by five points against a very good team despite the fact that the 49ers' best players, Kejuan Johnson and Aaron Nixon, are a combined 0-for-15 from the field and have't scored a point.

Go figure
