Long Beach hoops beating Chapman by 22

OK, it's halftime in the Walter Pyramid and the Long Beach State men's baskeball team is beating Chapman University 54-32.

What are we to gather from the first 20 minutes?

Well, Chapman is trying to play with patience but has turned the ball over 15 times. When he Panthers don't turn it over, they shoot well (10 of 20).

Aaron Nixon has scored 15 points in 14 minutes but we already knew he is the 49ers' best scorer.

Coach Larry Reynolds has played 12 players in the first half. My guess is that, by the time the 49ers are playing the Air Force Academy, that rotation will be at about eight or so.

Oh, well . . . back to the salt mine.
