Oh, brother

I'm wide awake in my hotel room near Stanford University, where Long Beach State's men's basketball team opens its season tonight against the Air Force Academy.

I just checked out my Tuesday column via www.presstelegram and discovered a blunder on my part.

In my yarn on the CIF Southern Section's Pac-5 Division playoff field, I make reference to Wilson playing at Notre Dame in Sherman Oaks (and make a witty reference to Diet Coke).

Yikes . . .

The Bruins aren't playing in Sherman Oaks Friday night. They're playing the No. 1 seed out of the Trinity League, Servite, at Warren High.

I had Wilson playing at Notre Dame in a mock bracket I drew up late Friday night, so that must have still been lurking in my noggin.

Geez, Louise.

Anyway, the Bruins still have as much chance of scoring an upset Friday night as I do of giving up Diet Coke.
