For all of you who have been eagerly anticipating the news (and for those of you who will respond "Huh?"), the 28th edition of the Press-Telegram's Best in the West basketball team is going to be published in Monday's edition.

I'm taking a break from cranking out the last of the BIW stories as I write this blog Thursday night. It's called "procrastination".

If you're a BIW veteran, you know the drill: I coaxed a bunch of college coaches and scouts (scouting service directors, Internet writers and the such) into voting for the best high school basketball players in the western class of 2007.

The top 15 finishers make up the "first team" of the BIW.

You want some hints? OK, just one: The top 15 is made up of nine players who attend Southern California high schools and six from outside of California.

And how cool is this? For the first time, a player from Wyoming was voted onto the first team!
