Tuesday night CIF hoopsters

Artesia and Compton will be the "hosts" in their Tuesday night boys' basketball playoff games vs. Dominguez and Mater Dei, respectively.

But the games are not going to be in their gymnasiums.

CIF Southern Section regulations dictate that semifinal playoff games play at "alternate" sites. So, although the Pioneers and Tarbabes won coin-flips (which were conducted Thursday, by the way, in advance of Friday night's quarterfinals), they can't play at "home", per se, but in facilities relatively close to their campuses.

Look for the Artesia-Dominguez game to be played at Gahr High (which, like Artesia, is part of the ABCD School District) and the Compton-Mater Dei clash to be played at Compton College.

The I-AA final will be one of six Southern Section boys championship games played next Saturday in the Honda Center in Anaheim.
