Florida puts out Westwood lights in Atlanta

Nothing much, it seems, has changed much in a year's time when it comes to the University of Florida and UCLA basketball teams.

The Gators, as was the case 12 months ago, are a much better basketball team than are the Bruins.

The final score was Florida 76-66 but the difference between the teams seemed a lot more lopsided than that most of the way --- especially in a second half in which it took the Gators only 6 1/2 minutes to stretch a six-point lead at intermission to 17 points.

They could make it a best of three, best of five or best of seven series . . . it wouldn't matter.

There's no shame in it. The Bruins got to the Final Four for the second year in a row and are truly right near the top of the college basketball social strata again.

It's just Florida happened to be better then Ben Howland's team in both of those seasons.
