If I was a UCLA fan and the Bruins needed a desperation shot to knock off the Florida Gators tonight, I know who I would want shooting the ball.
And that guy is . . .
. . . Ben Howland!
The Bruins' coach and his players, assistants and managers spent the final five or six minutes of Friday's "practice" launching shots from mid-court.
And Howland, a two-time All-CIF selection at Cerritos High in 1974 and '75, nailed one of his attempts.
