It looks like 'niners vs. 'tangs Saturday

Barring one of the great comebacks of this or any other century, the Long Beach State 49ers are going to play the Cal Poly Mustangs in the Big West Conference Tournament final Saturday night in the Anaheim Convention Center.

Excuse me! I guess it’s now technically called “The Arena of the Anaheim Convention Center”.

That’s cool.

Anyway Cal Poly looks might impressive while dominating the Cal State Fullerton Titans. It’s 60-38 with 11:32 to go as I write this.

Long Beach, which was mediocre offensively but solid defensively during its 77-63 win against UC Irvine in the first semifinal tonight, will have to play about as well as it has all season, at both ends of the floor, to win Saturday night and get that NCAA Tournament bid.

At least, that’s my humble opinion.
