OSU proves too good for G-Town

OK. If anyone had any doubts as to why Greg Oden will be the No. 1 selection in the June 28 NBA Draft, they were dashed all to heck in the second half Saturday evening in the Georgia Dome.

His school buddy, Mike Conley, kept the Buckeyes in front by four points in the first half, even as Oden went 0 (points) and 0 (rebounds) in a first half limited to 2:41 because of the two fouls he was hit with in that stretch.

But Oden's dominance after intermission, and a better-than-expected man-to-man defensive effort by the Buckeyes over the final 20 minutes, extended Ohio State's season a couple of days.

All things considered it was a very solid performance by Thad Matta's team, certainly the best 40 minutes of play the Buckeyes have had in the tournament -- and, arguably, their best of the season as well.
