Bingo! UCLA All-American and Centennial High graduate Arron Afflalo made a bit of a calculated gamble by passing up his senior season but it paid off Thursday night.
Afflalo got to shake hands with the Commish after all when the Detroit Pistons went into the backcourt for the second time in the first round and tabbed the Pac-10 Player of the Year.
It's the second year in a row a UCLA guard landed late in the first round (Jordan Farmar went to the Lakers last year).
It also means that there will be two players who grew up in Compton on the Pistons' roster next season. The other? Tayshaun Prince (Dominguez), of course.
