The quickest goes to Houston

I had heard that San Antonio and Phoenix were considering taking Oregon point guard Aaron Brooks late in the first round.

Well, obviously at least one other team was, too, since the Rockets took Brooks at No. 26.

He was the most underrated guard in the draft -- well, at least by yours truly, who had him going No. 29 to Phoenix.

I felt sorry for UCLA guard Arron Afflalo -- sitting in the Madison Square Garden audience with his dad, Danny. His heart must have lept out of his chest when he heard Commissioner David Stern said "Aaron . . ."
