The 49ers are looking in the mail -- the postal variety -- for a couple of signed scholarship agreements from community college candidates for Dan Monson's first team.
But 6-6 forward Cornell Williams (San Diego City College) and point guard Maurice Glady (Grossmont) can't sign binding national letters of intents with the program, since the NLOI deadline was mid-may.
The scholarship papers that they sign (assuming they do) would bind the school to give them grant-in-aids, though.
Monson or any member of his staff can't comment on any player additions until the school has cleared the documention (usually, letters of intent but in this case the scholarship agreements).
Those who have seen both players in action believe they could make significant contributions to a team that will returns no starters and just four reserves (three of those, littled used) from last season's club.
